The Last Kiss
Dreary day. All is not calm. A frantic British author is scrambling down the muggle streets of London, looking completely mad. Her blonde hair is a mess and she's trying to escape before HE comes. She can't let her children get in danger of that beast or her husband, either. She needs to find someone who can help her, but the Wizarding World has turned a cold shoulder on her saying that she turned into a Skeeter and she could suffer whatever the Death Eaters gave her. Well, that was the Ministry of Magic, technically. . .but no one else was reaching out to her. She needed Dumbledore, but where was he?
Before she knew it, HE was there. He was standing right before her. "Joan, Joan, Joan," remarked a cruel, high-pitched voice. "I enjoyed your little tale, it was most interesting and, of course, the hero won. A seventeen year old boy defeating me, oh, it was amusing all right. Don't you wish it would be so easy to defeat me?"
She whipped out her wand. "You don't scare me."
"The mudbloods all think you're such a brilliant artist, if they knew the truth they wouldn't think so highly of you, I don't think," he remarked, a cruel smirk twisting over his grostesque features. "Although, you did give them 'good always conquers evil' story, so, of course. Naturally they all ate it up."
"You don't scare me."
"You keep saying that, but I think you're lying to me, Rowling. You're not lying to Lord Voldemort, are you?"
"You don't scare me."
There was laughter, a flash of green light and she was gone. Out like a candle, out like a light. Dumbledore got there later, only to find that she was gone. Closing his eyes, he went to the residence of she and her husband. The muggle was dead along with all of the children. The house was still ablaze, and over the house was a skull and snake insignia. He closed his pale blue eyes. "Forgive me for not getting to you before this," he said in a whisper. It was disgusting what the Death Eaters had done, but he couldn't undo this. There was no means to do so, no matter how much he wished that this weren't the truth. She hadn't deserved to die.

"What the hell is up with this, this clock says it's 1978? I thought it was supposed to be 2007?"
"Of course it is, Ronald," Hermione said appraisingly.
"Well, excuse me. But look," Ron remarked crossly. "It says 1978."
"That's ridiculous," Harry remarked with a furrowed brow. "Why would it say that?"
"Well, someone's just playing a stupid joke. Forget about it."
The next morning, however, it was 1978. One of the Death Eaters had managed to make their own rendition of a time turner and turned it back to the year that the Dark Lord suggested. This would work out well, he could fix all the mistakes that he had made. He could prevent the boy-that-lived from being protected by his mother's love. Of course, he'd let them get married, let them have the child, and then he'd destroy all three of them. What was the odds that the same thing would protect him twice? Besides if he killed the boy first, then. . .it could work. . .The years seemed to pass quickly.
Before anyone knew it, it was 1981. . .Three years out of Hogwarts already; and Sirius and James didn't seem to have changed much. Lily couldn't help but notice that Remus was still exasperated with them and Peter still didn't seem to fit in. The poor dear. What they didn't know was Peter was a spy. No one seemed to have any knowledge of what was going to happen except Voldemort and Dumbledore. It was like everyone else was transferred to their normal state. But as a result, Dumbledore did not suggest using anyone else but Sirius as the Secret Keeper. He knew that way, Voldemort could not use Peter. Of course, it was then that Voldemort realized that he wasn't the only one who knew what was going on. However, on the information given to him by Snape; which he had expected to be given, he also knew that the baby would be born in July. But he wouldn't strike that soon, no he'd wait until October. . .
So, this time it would be trickier. Well, he'd get them one way or another. They'd have to leave their precious house someday and he knew that it was in Godric's Hollow. All he had to do was wait until they appeared and then he'd murder them all. Of course, Severus had asked him to spare Lily. A request that he couldn't fulfill, most unfortunately. It was interesting how the man wanted Lily when he was going to have three children, though, he knew that wasn't intended. It didn't make it any less interesting, however.
The events that played out weren't exactly according to plan. James came out alone, followed moments later by an angered Lily it seemed. An amused expression crossed his face as she stupidly left the front door wide open and the baby crawled out, trying to head for his parents as he crawled through the crunching leaves.
"LILY! WHAT'RE YOU DOING?!" James roared.
Lily turned in time to see Voldemort appear out of nowhere. "NO! NOT HARRY!" She grabbed the baby out of the ground. Snatching him up as if she were some bird of prey. He whirled his wand at her first. "Advada Kedavra!" he snarled. She fell to the ground much to James' dismay. He knew that she was dead. He then pointed his wand at Harry, and to his fury, he somehow felt as if the same thing that had happened the first time would happen again. Well, he wasn't wrong. Voldemort was gone or so they thought. This oversight of his would cost him a few years and his plans would be set back.
Severus Snape was furious. How was it that Lily was dead while James and that brat lived? Of course, there were three children on the way that were his, but he hadn't intended on them. He had married that woman just to shut the other Death Eaters up and prove to the Dark Lord that he was not in love with a mudblood. That was lovely, of course, she just had to be pregnant with triplets as if they didn't have enough children already. But no, she had to have a girl. This was going to be peachy. He was upset and hurt and annoyed. Not to mention that Lily was gone forever and all because of that stupid prophecy he had told to the Dark Lord. Stupid James got to live. He hated that more than anything else. The Death Eater lurked in the shadows, he was present at Lily's funeral but only to those with a quick eye. He wasn't visible to James, for he knew that the raging lunatic would come after him. Fool. Lily's death was the one determining factor that would put him on the side of the Dark Lord, something, Albus Dumbledore did not suspect. He suspected Severus' remorse, that came, but it was only an act. He couldn't have Lily, Potter was alive, and his life was miserable. He was a double spy on the side of the Dark Lord. Not that Dumbledore knew that, he thought he was good because he could love. What good had that done? He loved a woman that would never love him in return. A woman that was dead and someone who could never come back.

In 1981, Lord Voldemort was brought back again with the aid of Peter Pettigrew (of course, Peter had only helped him out of fear). It was the year that Bertha Jorkins went missing and an old muggle man named Frank was murdered. No one knew why. It only caused fear, but not as much fear as it could have. It was then that he realized that he already had some followers that weren't faithful. Well, he was in no mood to tolerate that. So anyone who had betrayed him was either killed or tortured to insanity.
Run. Run. Run! In 1982, A young two-year old Lupin girl and a young two year old Black girl was frantically running to get back to their mothers and fathers. They had gotten lost in the forest and they wanted their parents. Unfortunately, there was a monster that was making their hearts race frantically. It had nothing to do with their imagination. It was Fenrir Greyback. He was under orders to attack at least one of the Lupin children, it didn't matter which one. Although, two of them were born with the werewolf 'curse', so it was to be a different one. Voldemort wanted to punish the Order, of course, he had never liked those Order morons. Greyback didn't only stop with the Lupin girl, he bit the Black girl, too. Two screams pierced the night, but soon enough the monster had finished.
The next morning frantic parents were searching the forest for the two little girls, and the father's found them first. The young Lupin opened her eyes first and the daughter of Sirius Black merely whimpered. Sirius and Remus were appalled. They knew what had happened, but who was the werewolf that had done this. "Greyback," Remus muttered. "I bet you anything." He couldn't say any more before the mother's appeared, both frantic and overcome with grief. They shrieked at the bloodied bodies of their daughters, demanding to know what was wrong. Sirius was ready to get on the defensive but Remus explained what had happened to the two women. Both women started to cry. Why them? Why their poor precious babies?
That same year a two year old Harry Potter started to cry because his scar hurt. James wasn't sure what it meant, but he knew that it couldn't be good. He asked Dumbledore what it meant and Dumbledore told him his theory, but he stated that he couldn't be sure until the boy was older. James didn't like that, at all, he was making Harry sound as if he were a gineau pig and his son certainly wasn't that. It was bad enough that Harry had Lily's eyes. He didn't need to put his son in danger. He wasn't going to lose his son, too. . .Remus and Sirius remained close to the man, so that he wouldn't get on the verge of a mental breakdown. However, there was one thing that all three men wanted. They wanted Pettigrew to die. He deserved to for all the trouble that he had caused, and all three were suspicious of Severus. Though, none more so than James. Sirius was a close-second. Remus, however, didn't mention his suspicions, for he sided with Dumbledore and trusted the man's judgement. If they couldn't trust Dumbledore, then who could they trust?

In 1991, the year of which Harry started school along with the Riddle triplet's, Ronald Wealsey, Draco Malfoy, and Hermione Granger among others; the Dark Lord finally brought down the Ministry of Magic declaring himself the Minister. But Dumbledore calmly stated as he had to Cornelius Fudge that the Ministry had no influence or authority in Hogwarts. This, of course, infuriated Voldemort but he knew better than to combat the man directly. It would be too dangerous and he had no intention of making a fool of himself when he so freshly gained the little power that he did have over the Wizarding World.
But now, it's the year 1998; the last year of the trio's years at Hogwarts, he's finally managed to drive Dumbledore out. He's declared himself the still as the Minister of Magic, but he's thrown someone else into the position of Headmaster. Of course, driving Dumbledore out wasn't an easy task but he couldn't have done it without the aid of Severus Snape, whom Dumbledore is starting to wonder if he is actually not a spy for the Dark Lord, but he trusts Severus. He's just a bit skeptical now, but he won't tell that to people like James who is insistent that Snape is going to try to kill his son or Sirius who insists the same. The two men were being a little bit impractical, he thought considering the fact that they had hated Severus throughout their whole youth. He wasn't going to rule anything out, Severus had always been a good actor. Severus was made the Headmaster of Hogwarts much to everyone's surprise (and to the disgust of some). The Head Boy was appointed by the Dark Lord, and was no other than his own son, Reese Riddle. The Head Girl that was appointed was Linda Snape, none other than Severus Snape's daughter and an under cover death eater. Although, none of them seemed to realize that the Death Eater loyalist was in love with the one that was forbidden from her, Harry Potter. . .The Staff was almost all replaced, but a few of the Order Members decided to defend the students and stay. One such person being the Deputy Headmistress, though, she really had limited powers in the castle now due to Voldemort's interference. However, she used what little power she had to protect the students from the Dark Lord's wrath. The Death Eaters have now allowed the students to go into Hogsmeade and even Diagon Alley for the first time since 1986. They hoped that would make some students to be swayed in their favor.
But parents were still miserable even though they got chances to see their children for they knew that the Death Eaters children were getting favored and their own children were being tortured. But, maybe they were expecting too much. For what could Slughorn, McGonagall, Flitwick, and Sprout prevent the Carrows, Severus Snape, and the other Death Eaters in the school from doing? Really? Honestly, it was like being in the dark, but there is some light. Will the Death Eaters be defeated? Will Voldemort's horcruxes be destroyed? Will Dumbledore and his Order set things right before time runs out for them all? Will things be set right? Oh, that's not yet to be seen. Better hold your loved ones tight this could be THE LAST KISS.
